The WYLD Gaming Community and Crews
In September of 2014, a crew called "TH3 WYLD STALLYNS" began on the Rockstar Social Club for the highly anticipated GTA Online. The crew advertised themselves as a crew who welcomed gamers of all sorts on the premise that fun would always take priority over skill, and that they would pledge to their one motto, one given in the same film their name was taken from, to "Be Excellent to Each Other". In the world of GTA Online, it was easy to run into players who would kill you before you had a chance to do anything, and TH3 WYLD STALLYNS crew had a different priority, firing only when fired upon and avenging fellow crew mates coming under fire. This sense of community made a huge difference among the other choices that were out there, and Rockstar took notice as well in March of 2015 and featured "TH3 WYLD STALLYNS" crew as a crew to join.
When this happened, the crew grew tremendously becoming international and spanning all platforms. The crew creator, our Editor-in-Chief and writer, Aaron Sturgill, began to piece together a leadership team who could help keep the quality and morale of the crew up on every platform and keep the crew fresh and exciting. A website and forums was created and TH3 WYLD STALLYNS began to grow even bigger reaching the limits Rockstar had enabled their crews. They began to branch off in other specialities forming a gaming crew for the women of the group called "TH3 NYTE MARES" and a motorcycle club called "TH3 WYLD HAWGS". To sum up their overall unity, the three crews began going by "The WYLD Community".
From there, they found the best decision was to expand even more and they began to become a part of other games, and friends who had met playing GTA were suddenly playing Destiny, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, The Division, and more! Excitement grew regarding upcoming games and technology and many discussions were shared among their Facebook group, and they found that their overall unified passion was the fun every member had in the gaming field, and from there, the next step was only logical. The WYLD Gaming community would expand their reach even further by branching off into journalism, thus forming the WYLD Gaming of today, a passionate and fun group of people who met over their love of gaming and have formed lifetime friendships and ideas.
We hope that, through our endeavor, we can help invigorate that same passion in our readers and reach even more people united on the concept that gaming doesn't have to be a field full of trolls and jerks, but genuine friendships can be made and experienced and gaming can be fun again whether you're online with a video game or at home with a board or card game!
We hope that you'll join us on this excellent journey!
